For Safer Internet Day 2025, Securus CEO, Bernard Snowe, is delighted to join the UK Safer Internet Centre for a unique and exciting opportunity to hear directly from young people about their experiences of scams online.
The event at the BT Tower in London will focus on this years’ extremely important Safer Internet Day theme: “Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online”.
Speakers include:
- Peter Kyle MP, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology
- Will Gardner OBE, Co-Director of the UK Safer Internet Centre
- Kainat, Youth Keynote
Speakers will discuss the latest research into the scams young people are seeing online, and how they are responding to them.
During the event, there will be the opportunity to visit a range of interactive stalls and activities facilitated by young people themselves.
Bernard Snowe, CEO of Securus says:
“Online scams are on the increase and affect students today so SID25 is a great way to start conversations and offer practical advice and resources.
At Securus we monitor and safeguard students whilst using their devices, alerting school staff to any serious incidents detected. It is vitally important that we all help students to increase their understanding of scams and how to protect themselves and they know where to find help when they need it”.

The theme for Safer Internet Day 2025 focuses on the issues of scams and sextortion in the digital world that children and young people now face through technology, how to protect them and what support is available.
Main topics this year are:
- How is changing technology like generative AI going to impact the approach of scammers?
- What role can the government and internet industry take to tackle this threat?
- What changes would young people like to see to help protect themselves moving forward?
Online scams and sextortion are real scale issues students face today so SID25 is a great way to start conversations and offer practical advice and resource.
The Securus Safeguarding Team are finding more captures relating to these issues and school customers have been alerted to incidents of concern when detected by our Full Monitoring Service.
Over the years, Safer Internet Day has become a landmark event for UK schools and education establishments, with a hub of resources for children of all ages to get involved. You can find out more via the link below:
