The Securus Safeguarding Team are detecting captures from AI websites where students are typing in questions and using the answers to complete homework and assignments without carrying out the necessary learning and research into topics, without citing sources and passing it off as theirs, it is not their work.
Plagiarism & AI detection tools work in highlighting assignments that have what is considered to be too high a percentage of AI generated content, but some educators are wary of labelling it all as “cheating” and want to engage with students around the ways in which AI can support them in their learning and the ways in which it may be detrimental to their learning.
Based on the captures we have seen, we have put together a list of some popular platforms which we have seen at times to be associated with potential plagiarism, cheating and even using the chatroom function for inappropriate content.
It may be worth considering reviewing any of these sites that you have come across and which therefore might be considered for blocking through your filtering software.
